Supported Agent Platforms
The up.time agent is supported on the following platforms.
Agent-Based Platforms
Agent-based platforms require the installation of a small software package that up.time will use to gather performance data
from the agent system.

Agentless Platforms
Agentless nodes do not require any up.tme software to be installed on the agent system. up.time will gather performance data from the agent system using services and applications already on the host system.
| Agentless protocol | Notes |
| Standard Agentless Monitoring | up.time will not be able to gather performance data from these systems but you will be able to perform service availability monitoring without the need to install any agent at all. |
| Novell Netware 6.5 NRM | up.time will access performance data from a Netware 6.5 system running NRM via http or SSL connection. Authentication is required, the user up.time logs in as must be an administrator with access to the BasicHealth system screen. |
| Net-SNMP | up.time can gather basic performance data from any system running an SNMP daemon that presents information from the hoststatus.mib. |
| VMware ESX | up.time can gather workload data from physical VMware ESX 3 systems (version 3.0, 3.1, 3.5, or 3i) that are being managed by Virtual Infrastructure 3, and ESX 4 systems by vSphere 4. |
