article How do I add a pSeries server to up.time?

It is highly recommended that you use Auto-Discovery to add your pSeries servers to up.time.

To use Auto-Discovery to add pSeries servers that are managed by an HMC:

  1. In the My Enterprise panel, click Auto-Discovery to open the Auto-Discovery window.
  2. Click the pSeries HMC Discovery option.
  3. Complete the following fields:
    • HMC Host Name: name of the system on which the HMC is running.
    • Username: user name required to login to the HMC (almost always hscroot).
    • Password: password required to login to the HMC.
  4. Click Continue.  A list of the pSeries servers that are being managed by the HMC will appear.
  5. Click the Add button beside the server that you want to add.  The Add System / Network Device window will open.
  6. If necessary, edit the details of the system.  Otherwise, click Save in the Add System / Network Device window.
  7. Repeat the previous 2 steps for all systems that you want to add.
