Our Uptime6 SQL Server 2008 database is ~76 gigs. I am looking for someone in the forum to give advise for database maintenance. We have tried to run weekly integrity checks, Reorgs, and update stats on the database, but this is causing issues with the uptime database transaction log. The log is growing extremely large during this maintenance. Should I worry about keeping the stats and reorg up-to-date on the uptime database?

Uptime does not have any specific requirements nor recommendation as to how much of the MSSQL 2008 transaction log should be kept beyond what MS SQL Server would specify. Are you rebuilding your index weekly because of the volume of updates and/or deletes that are regularly made or performed in the up.time database? And is this volume due to large number and frequency of the service monitors that you are running in up.time? If you need assistance with managing the size of the up.time database, up.time support can assist you with notes running up.time archiving or running manual deletes of old an uwanted performance data from the up.time database. Feel free to contact us by either opening a case at http://support.uptimesoftware.com or emailing us at support@uptimesoftware.com.
