An Introduction to up.time Element Grouping

To add your first element group follow the steps listed below. You can define as many element groups as you like, each group can be associated with multiple User Groups to define sets of users that are allowed to view the elements (and all sub-elements) within a group. Groups can also be nested as deeply as you like, which we will go over in more detail in the next section of this tutorial.

Step 1 - Click My Enterprise




Step 2 - Click Add Group




Step 3 - Set Element Group Settings




Enter a name and description for this group.

If you wish for this group to be a child group to an existing group, set the parent group in the available drop down list. All groups are by default children of the main 'My Enterprise' group.

Optionally select one or more existing groups to fall within this element group as children groups.

Optionally select one or more exisiting elements that will fall within this element group as children.

Select one or more existing User Groups that will have visibility permissions to this group and all of it's children.

Click Save to save your group.
