Add a Nested Group

Nesting groups in up.time is very straightforward. When creating any group you have the option of placing the new group within an existing group using the 'Parent Group' field or putting other existing groups within the new group using the 'Selected Groups' box. There are many ways to design a multi-tier grouping like that below. This example has 2 top level groups (Red & Green), two sub groups (Alpha & Bravo) and one sub sub group (Linus).

To accomplish this grouping any of the following methods could be used, we have not listed all methods but merely a few of the most common approaches.

Option 1 - Create Green, create Alpha and place it into Green, create Linus and place it into Green. This option creates the highest level groups, working from the top down to the deepest level group.

Option 2 - Create Linus, create Alpha and place Linus into it, create Green and place Alpha into it. This option creates the groups from the bottom, or deepest level and then up.

Option 3 - Create Green, create Linus and place it within Green, create Alpha and assign it to Green as a parent and place Linus within it. This option wedges Alpha between Green and Linus.
