Add a User Group
There are very few requirements for monitoring a system via up.time. If you intend to gather performance statistics, up.time will need some method of accessing the statistics; either the via the up.time Agent or "Agentless" via Net-SNMP or NRM.
To add your first User Group please follow the steps below. User groups are the primary method of controlling what elements (servers, server groups, applications, etc...) that your users have permissions to view. They should be the first part of your user configuration, by properly planning your user visibility before hand you will save a lot of time managing users as your up.time installation grows.
Step 1 - Click Users
Step 2 - Click Add New User Group
Step 3 - Set User Group Settings
Enter a name for your user group
Optionally select users who should belong to this group, more can be added later.
Select one or more individual elements to make visible to this group.
Select one or more system groups, any elements or other groups that are a part of the system group will be visible to the users of this user group.
Click Save to save your user group.
