article Create read-only user with rights to set maintenance periods

To provide this level of access, create a new user role with the following capabilities:

  • Add Maintenance Profile
  • Assign Maintenance to Host
  • Assign Maintenance to Service

The user role should have Add / Edit enabled for:

  • Services
  • Time Periods
  • Service Level Agreements

After the user role is created, add a new user, assign this role and ensure that the user has visibility of the systems that he/she needs to put into maintenance.  This final point can be managed by assigning the user to the appropriate user group(s).
