articleExpanding up.time's Capabilities with Plug-in Monitors

Plug-in monitors provide an easy way to:

  • Expand up.time's standard capabilities: add new service monitors to report on servers, services or other devices.
  • Implement special customized solutions: plug-in monitors can provide capabilities beyond those offered by script-based custom monitors and can be fully integrated into the up.time UI with defined options that will be used when creating an instance.
  • Share resources with the uptime community: all plug-in monitors released by uptime or developed by uptime clients are available on the Grid.

Guidance for constructing your own plug-in monitor is available in the Creating Plug-in Service Monitors in up.time knowledge base article.

Popular plug-in monitors tested and bundled by uptime are available on the Grid at http://support.uptimesoftware.com/the-grid/.
