article Can't add HMC managed server to up.time

If you encounter this issue, run the following command on the HMC:

lssyscfg -r sys -F name,type_model,serial_num,ipaddr

If the Managed Server name contains spaces, rename it to remove all spaces.

To rename a Managed Server:

  • Login to the HMC.
  • Choose the corresponding server from the Servers list.
  • Select Advanced System Management (ASM).
  • Login to ASM.
  • Expand the System Configuration option.
  • From the left menu, select System Name.
  • Change the Name and save.
